With the advent of COVID-19 and lockdowns imposed across the globe, for most, our daily lives have changed drastically. More often than not, the only reprieve we had from our new internal existence was a trip to the grocery store or a humble once-a-day walk.
William Wordsworth, the English poet and a prolific walker, often mused on how restorative immersing oneself in nature can be.
...[Nature] can so inform
The mind that is within us, so impress
With quietness and beauty, and so feed
With lofty thoughts, that neither evil tongues,
Rash judgements, nor the sneers of selfish men,
Nor greetings where no kindness is, not all
The dreary intercourse of daily life,
Shell e'er prevail against us, or disturb
Our cheerful faith that all which we behold
Is full of blessings.
Lines Written a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey
