Sally Dunbar graduated from the Australian National University in 2022, majoring in print-media and drawing. After living and working in Japan for several years, Sally now resides and works from Canberra Australia.
While living in Japan, Sally developed particular interest in Japanese Woodblock Prints and Wagara; the use of design and pattern in Japanese printmaking. The print and repetition of motif to create order, rhythm and structure are key compositional elements within Sally’s work. She weaves human narratives within these structural foundations, exploring scenes of everyday life and human interaction.
